Scotland’s Greatest Gift: A Year of Giving with WeeBox
Scotland is a land of legends, lochs, and breathtaking landscapes – but we’ve always believed her greatest gift is something far more powerful: her people. The spirit of Scotland lives in our kindness, our resilience, and the way we care for one another, both at home and across the world. At WeeBox, we try to carry the spirit in every parcel we send and every story we share. And this year, we were honoured to partner with charities whose work reflects the very heart of Scotland’s compassion. Together, with the incredible support of our WeeBox Clan, we’ve seen how generosity can ripple from our wee corner of the world to communities everywhere.

One of our most meaningful partnerships this year was with Erskine Veterans Charity, which has supported Scotland’s veterans and their families since 1916. As the world marked eighty years since the end of the Second World War, Erskine reminded us that the sacrifices of those who served are not just stories from the past but continue to shape lives today. Every year, Erskine provides essential support, care, and community to more than 1200 veterans across Scotland. Working with Erskine has shown us how connected our global Clan truly is. Whether you’re unboxing WeeBox in America, Canada, Australia, or anywhere else in between, you are part of a legacy of remembrance and gratitude. Learn more: www.erskine.org.uk

In September, we joined forces with World Child Cancer for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month – an organisation whose mission is both simple and profound: that every child, no matter where they live, should have access to life-saving treatment. Their programmes span Africa, Asia, and Latin America, reaching thousands of children and families. But what moved us most was how their work, though global in scale, feels deeply personal. Each story is a reminder of the strength of children and the power of communities that refuse to look away. Our partnership also allowed us to celebrate their inspiring patron, Caitríona Balfe, whose dedication helps shine a light on the needs of these families. But the true highlight was seeing our WeeBox Clan rally behind a caue that crosses oceans and borders, proving once again that kindness knows no distance. Learn more: www.worldchildcancer.org

Another moment that touched us deeply this year was supporting SiMBA, Scotland’s only baby-loss charity. Since 2005, SiMBA have provided comfort to more than 120,000 families, offering Memory Boxes filled with tender keepsakes to help parents honour their precious babies. In September, WeeBox subscribers opened their boxes to find SiMBA tealights, a gentle invitation to join the Global Wave of Light during Baby Loss Awareness Week. Knowing that Clan members around the world lit candles in solidarity was profoundly moving – a quiet, shared moment that said: “You are not alone.” A donation of £15 can gift a Memory Box to a family this Christmas, ensuring no one walks through loss without support. We were also proud to support organisations working to build a brighter tomorrow. Street Soccer Scotland uses the power of football to create opportunities for people affected by homelessness, addiction, and poverty, offering community, confidence, and a fresh start. https://www.streetsoccer.org.uk/

The King’s Trust continues to empower young people as they develop skills, build confidence, an shape careers that transform futures. Both organisations remind us that generosity doesn’t end with compassion – it grows into opportunity. https://www.kingstrust.org.uk/

As the festive season approaches, and you hang stockings by the fire or raise a glass with loved ones, we hope you’ll join us in reflecting on Scotland’s greatest gift: the spirit of giving. It’s not found in what we wrap with paper and ribbon, but in the bonds of kindness, solidarity, and hope we create together. And every single day, through the support and compassion of our WeeBox Clan around the world, we see that gift in action.
Here’s to Scotland, where generosity is shared, stories are honoured, and no one is ever alone. From all of us at WeeBox – thank you for helping us spread Scotland’s spirit across the globe.
